All Digital Summit in Madrid
From 15 to 17 October, the All Digital Summit of Engaged Digital Citizenship 2024 took place in Madrid. The three-day event brought together experts from across Europe to generate knowledge, build networks and facilitate alliances in the areas of digital skills, employability and entrepreneurship. It also discussed how digital rights are reflected in the various official international documents and presented different examples in the fight against social exclusion and discrimination and for a more aware and engaged citizenship.
Fostering the Digital Society
The Austrian Computer Society has been the national coordination centre for ALL DIGITAL Weeks in Austria since 2023 and is helping to raise awareness of the EU-funded campaign in Austria. OCG Secretary General Ronald Bieber took part in an exciting panel discussion on "Fostering the Digital Society" at the summit. He presented measures aimed at strengthening digital skills among the general population.
Among other things, Bieber presented our numerous initiatives to qualify teachers both in basic digital education and in forward-looking areas such as artificial intelligence (AI) and robotics, as well as playful approaches such as the Biber der Informatik competition, which promotes enthusiasm for computer science thinking among children and young people.
