About Zemanek Lecture
On 1 January 2020 computer-pioneer and founder of the Austrian Computer Society (OCG) Heinz Zemanek would have celebrated his 100th birthday. To celebrate his anniversary, the OCG launched the Zemanec Lecture series.
Central topics are Zemanek's main areas of research: programming languages, computer architecture, and digital humanities. The latter is also strongly emphasised in the OCG statutes:
Art. 2: Aim of the association
The aim of the OCG is the comprehensive and interdisciplinary promotion of informatics and communication technology with due regard to their interaction with people and society.
At the first Zemanek Lecture 2020 Turing Award winner Niklaus Wirth held a keynote about Pascal.
